Richard's Racing CV

Richard won the 2009 Formula Palmer Audi Championship before being forced to take a season sabbatical in 2010 after a family illness. After only three years of car racing Richard has an extremely impressive racing CV - here is his story so far…

2009
Formula Palmer Audi Championship: Champion (20 races - five wins, 11 podiums)
Won the championship and a £50,000 scholarship prize towards the 2010 FIA Formula Two Championship after taking five wins, 11 podium finishes, ten fastest laps and a total of 330 points. Richard recorded the most successful weekend of any driver in the 12 year history of Formula Palmer Audi by taking three pole positions and three race victories at Brands Hatch in August, leading every lap in the process.

Formula Two: Winter Testing
As part of his prize for winning the Formula Palmer Audi Championship Richard was awarded a two-day test drive in Formula Two. He completed the test in Valencia, Spain in early December and recorded a fastest lap that was within one second of Robert Wickens pole position time from earlier in the season.

2008
Formula Palmer Audi Championship: 4th (20 races - one win, five podiums)
Richard scored his maiden single-seater victory during the opening round at Donington Park. In only his second season of competition Richard took an impressive haul of five podium finishes on his way to securing fourth in the championship standings.

Porsche Carrera Cup GB: Winter Testing
Richard completed an impressive test with championship winning Team Parker Racing with a view to potentially joining the championship in the future - an ambition he fulfils in 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season.

2007
Formula Palmer Audi Championship: 8th (20 races - two 4th place finishes)
Richard enjoyed a successful debut season in car racing after graduating from karts to the Formula Palmer Audi Championship at just 17 years of age. In a line-up of 27 drivers, Richard finished the season in eighth overall. He finished fourth on two occasions - narrowly missing out on a maiden podium - and took a total of 13 top ten finishes from 20 races.

1999-2006
Karting: Various Categories
Richard started racing karts in 1999 at just nine years of age. Over the next eight years he went on to win races in every single category of karting that he competed in. He scored multiple victories in Super One/Champions of the Future in 2000 and 2001 before taking a number of race wins and top five championship positions in Junior TKM, Junior Rotax, BRDC Stars of Tomorrow, Senior Rotax Max, Super One and Kartmasters between 2002-2006.
